Here is the guitar tab for Stage 1 of Ghosts ‘n Goblins (Makaimura), an action masterpiece that is practically synonymous with Capcom.

Known for its extreme difficulty, Ghosts ‘n Goblins requires real-time decision-making at every turn. I believe playing this game can actually be a great way to train your focus. While I’d love to conquer the game myself one day, guitar will always be the top priority in my life! I actually own the Mega Drive version of Ghouls ‘n Ghosts, but I haven’t quite managed to get around to playing it yet.

Performance Tips

  • Most of the “0” open strings should be played with palm muting.

  • In measures 1–4, play the “0” with down-picking. For the notes on the 14th, 13th, and 12th frets, use up-picking to emphasize the top melody line.

  • For example, in the 1st measure, the picking pattern is “Down-Down-Up-Down, Down-Down-Up-Down,” with all down-strokes muted.

  • In the 2nd measure, it switches to “Up-Down-Down-Down, Up-Down-Up-Down,” again muting only the down-strokes.

  • This arrangement is designed as a solo guitar piece, allowing you to enjoy the full sound by incorporating the root notes and chordal feel.
